In a surprising shift in India’s electric two-wheeler industry, TVS Motor Company outpaced its rivals to become the top-selling electric scooter brand for April 2025. This marks the first occasion the well-established automaker has climbed to the No.1 position in monthly sales rankings for electric scooters.
Slim Margin Separates TVS and Ola in Intense Showdown
As per the latest industry data, TVS Motor reported 19,736 units sold of its iQube electric scooter, narrowly surpassing Ola Electric, which recorded 19,709 units. This tight race underscores the escalating competition in India’s E2W space, with the top two brands separated by just a handful of units.
Massive Annual Growth Propels TVS to the Front
TVS achieved an impressive 154% growth when compared to its April 2024 performance of 7,762 units. This year-on-year increase not only demonstrates the growing popularity of the iQube but also gave TVS a substantial 22% market share in April 2025.
Ola Slips to Second Amid Month-on-Month Decline
Despite holding the top spot for months, Ola Electric slipped to second place in April 2025. Its sales dropped from 23,430 units in March 2025 to 19,709 in April, representing a 15.9% decrease. However, with a 21% market share, Ola remains a major player and continues to exert influence in the market.
Bajaj Auto Remains Strong Despite Drop from March High

Bajaj Auto secured the third spot with 19,001 units sold of its Chetak electric scooter in April 2025. This reflects a strong 151% increase from April 2024. However, the numbers were notably lower than March 2025’s 34,863 units, likely due to anticipation around new Chetak models that recently entered the market.
Top Four Brands Control Majority of Market Share
The combined performance of TVS, Ola Electric, Bajaj Auto, and Ather Energy accounted for nearly 78% of the total electric two-wheeler market in April 2025. These four brands continue to dominate, indicating a high level of consumer trust and brand consolidation within the E2W segment.
