Revolt Motors has launched its latest electric commuter motorcycle, the RV BlazeX, which positions itself as a cost-effective yet capable alternative to conventional 125cc petrol bikes. Priced ₹4,000 lower than the brand’s flagship RV 400, the RV BlazeX fits neatly between the RV 400 BRZ and RV 400 models, with a focus on daily usability and practicality. However, testing was limited to a go-kart track, leaving real-world road experience still to be fully explored.
Classic Commuter Aesthetics with Modern Touches
Inspired by the RV1 and RV1+ models, the RV BlazeX features a traditional commuter-style look. It sports a round LED headlamp, LED indicators, and a long, single-piece seat, all contributing to its functional design. The bike’s overall finish is satisfactory, although minor quality issues like the wiring around the handlebar and the charging socket cover could use refinement.
The centerpiece of the cockpit is a 6-inch LCD display, which enables switching between Eco, City, and Sport riding modes. The system also supports Bluetooth connectivity and smart features like geo-fencing and over-the-air updates via a mobile app. Though functional, the buttons used to toggle the trip meter are a bit stiff and require noticeable pressure.
Thoughtfully Designed for Everyday Use
With a seat height of 790mm and improved cushioning, the BlazeX ensures comfort over long rides. The suspension has been upgraded to support loads up to 250kg, enhancing its practicality for everyday commuting.
The bike features a removable 3.24kWh battery, allowing home charging. However, the battery weighs 20kg, which could be a challenge to lift especially in buildings without elevators.
In terms of charging:
- Standard charger: 0-80% in 3 hours 30 minutes
- Fast charger: 0-80% in just 1 hour 20 minutes
The fast charger is sold separately for ₹14,500, but when purchased with the bike in exchange for the standard charger, it costs only ₹4,500.
Powerful Motor with Room for Refinement

The RV BlazeX is equipped with a 4.1kW electric motor, delivering 45Nm at the motor and a peak of 180Nm at the wheels. It offers a top speed of 85kmph, matching that of the RV 400.
In Sport mode, acceleration is quick, although the throttle response can sometimes feel inconsistent, particularly in heavy traffic. Riders may need to adapt to this sensitivity for smoother rides.
The suspension system includes telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers, providing a balanced ride and effective shock absorption on uneven surfaces. Braking is handled by 240mm disc brakes with CBS, offering both stability and safety.
A Balanced Electric Option with Smart Features
The Revolt RV BlazeX is a compelling electric motorcycle that combines performance, smart features, and affordability. Its commuter-friendly design, modern connectivity, and practical range make it an ideal choice for those transitioning to electric mobility. That said, improvements in build quality and throttle calibration would elevate the riding experience even further.
