The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is already a well-loved SUV in India, known for its stylish design and spacious, comfortable interiors. With the growing demand for electric vehicles in the country, Maruti Suzuki is now stepping into the EV segment by planning to launch an all-electric version of this SUV, called the eVitara.

As Maruti Suzuki’s first fully electric vehicle in India, the eVitara is expected to blend modern styling, advanced features, and electric efficiency. Reports suggest that it will feature a muscular body design with a raised bonnet, giving it a bold road presence. Inside, the SUV may come equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

In terms of performance, sources claim that the eVitara could offer an impressive range of up to 550 km on a full charge, making it a strong contender in the emerging electric SUV space.

Maruti Suzuki Y17 A Bigger, Family-Friendly SUV

Alongside the eVitara, Maruti Suzuki is also gearing up to launch another SUV, codenamed Y17. This new model is expected to be a larger version of the Grand Vitara, offering more space and comfort for families. Designed as a mid-size SUV, the Y17 will likely be tailored for buyers seeking a roomy and practical vehicle for daily use and long drives.

Inspired by the design language of the Grand Vitara, the Y17 will probably carry forward its premium aesthetics with a slightly more extended and spacious layout. Under the hood, it is expected to be offered in two powertrain options a mild hybrid and a full hybrid setup.

For the mild hybrid version, Maruti Suzuki might use a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine. Once launched, the Y17 will compete with popular mid-size SUVs in India such as the Hyundai Alcazar. According to sources, the official launch is expected around mid-2025.
