Citroen Adds Style and Substance to Its Popular Hatchback
Citroen India has unveiled a new variant of its popular hatchback the Citroen C3 Dark Edition catering to design-forward car buyers. Priced from ₹8.38 lakh to ₹10.19 lakh (ex-showroom), the special edition not only adds sleek cosmetic upgrades but also comes as part of a broader refresh that includes mechanical compliance updates and a new variant in the lineup.
Stylish Appeal with a Darker Identity
Positioned on the top-spec Shine trim, the C3 Dark Edition stands out with a fully blacked-out aesthetic. It features a Perla Nera Black exterior, dark chrome accents on the chevron logos, grille, side mouldings, and lettering, as well as exclusive badging located just below the side mirrors. The car retains the 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels from the standard version.
Inside, the theme continues with a carbon-black cabin finish, red stitching accents, and gloss-black detailing across elements like the AC vents and gear lever. The black dashboard, steering wheel, and center console give it a sporty yet refined look that Citroen claims is targeted at young, style-conscious buyers.
Enhanced Interior with Premium Touches

While the mechanical components remain unchanged, the C3 Dark Edition introduces premium cabin features to distinguish itself from other trims. Enhancements include:
- Leatherette seats with red stitching
- Ambient lighting and footwell illumination
- Illuminated sill plates
- Leatherette-wrapped dashboard insert
- Seatbelt cushions for added comfort
These refinements aim to elevate the interior experience without altering the core mechanics of the hatchback.
Citroen C3 Engine Specifications
Engine Type | Displacement | Power Output | Torque | Gearbox Options |
---|---|---|---|---|
1.2L Naturally Aspirated | 1,199 cc | 82 hp | 115 Nm | 5-speed manual |
1.2L Turbocharged Petrol | 1,199 cc | 110 hp | 205 Nm | 6-speed manual / 6-speed torque converter |
These engines are now officially E20 fuel compliant, in line with government mandates effective from April 1, 2025. The shift supports a cleaner fuel mix of 20% ethanol and 80% petrol, contributing to lower emissions. Additionally, all C3 variants now come equipped with a larger 45-litre fuel tank, offering increased driving range between fill-ups.
Citroen C3 Is Now Loaded With High-end Features

In addition to the Dark Edition, Citroen has expanded the C3 range with a new Feel trim. While pricing details are yet to be announced, this variant is expected to be positioned between the Live (base) and Feel(O) (mid-spec) trims. Here are some key features of the all new Citroen C3:
- Remote keyless entry
- Electrically adjustable wing mirrors
- All-around power windows
- LED DRLs
- Passenger-side sun visor with vanity mirror
- Two front airbags and a spare wheel
Meanwhile, the Feel(O) variant now gains turn indicators on wing mirrors and front-seat adjustable headrests, while the Shine variant is now also available in the Perla Nera Black finish, previously exclusive to the Dark Edition.
The launch of the Citroen C3 Dark Edition underscores the brand’s effort to keep its lineup both trendy and compliant. While the visual upgrades appeal to the urban crowd, the introduction of E20-compatible engines and larger fuel tanks across the range signals a step toward sustainability and convenience. With competitive pricing, new variant options, and meaningful interior upgrades, the 2025 Citroen C3 range has been made even more versatile for Indian car buyers.
